GINGERBREAD
HOUSE CONTEST IN HISTORIC GLENDALE
BENEFITING SHRINERS BURNS HOSPITAL
Dear Friends,
Houses of Hope is announcing the 1st Annual Gingerbread House Contest in historic Glendale, Ohio the weekend of December
7, 2007 to benefit the Shriners Burns Hospital. Along with our honorary chairman, Rob Braun, we are asking for your
support for this premiere holiday event. We need your help to make miracles happen and give the gift of hope to children
suffering from severe burns.
Along with the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Cincinnati State's Midwest Culinary
Institute and Local 12 News, our goal is to build an annual holiday tradition in the Cincinnati area. Together we will
create an atmosphere for families to enjoy and a setting for talented bakers to inspire and entertain us while raising funds
for the care of these children.
The contest will be judged by a team of Cincinnati's top chefs and bakers.
Contestants will be a diverse group of children, teens, culinary students, home cooks and professionals. In essence,
the contest is open to anyone wishing to create a sugary confection! Cash and other prizes will be awarded to first,
second, and third place winners in all categories.
With your generous support, a touch of cinnamon, a cup of hope
and the scent of Christmas spices, we will transform our village into a magical gingerbread house experience for all
to enjoy while serving those who need us most.
May we count on you?
Sincerely,
Houses of
Hope Committee
Nancy DeCastro, Chair
